Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC)
The Philippines submitted its first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in April 2021 with a cumulative greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction and avoidance target of 75%, representing the country’s ambition for GHG mitigation for the period 2020 to 2030. The NDC guides the formulation of policies and measures (PAMs) in the sectors of energy, agriculture, transport, waste, and industrial processes seeking to inform transformative pathways for economy-wide development, with significant impacts on Local Government Units (LGUs), and foster participation from the private sector, civil society, and other non-government stakeholders.
