COVID19 recovery and climate change mitigation

Norway’s international climate and forest initiative (NICFI), REDD+-financing, ODA. NICFI supports development countries efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. NICFI’s budget was not increased, but in light of Covind-19, priority was given within the budget frame to support for capacity building in partner countries (e.g. control and law enforcement) and support to indigenous peoples. For example in Colombia extra support was given to UNODC to combat forest crime.
