Others(Climate adaptation measures)
The Environmental Promotion Plans for Adaptation, under generic name PIMA ADAPTA, aim to set up innovative and demonstration projects with a focus on nature based solutions and the objective of reducing the effects of climate change and improving resilience in several sectors (water, coasts, terrestrial ecosystems, national parks, urban areas, etc.) as well as fostering R&D and innovation for the benefit of adaptation strategies inspired and supported by nature, providing environmental, social and economic benefits and improving resilience.
Some examples of projects developed under this measure are:
• Hydrological connection and improvement of habitats in river ecosystems
• Nature based solutions in urban environments
• Restoration and protection of marshes and wetlands
• Dune system stabilization with bioengineering techniques
• Restoration and creation of habitats for amphibians
