Waste management and Circular economy / sustainable production and consumption
The transition towards a circular economy in Peru is a government policy, led by the Ministry of the Environment, and the public, private sector (unions, companies and enterprises, the academy) and all citizens participate. We have the National Competitiveness and Productivity Policy, which includes the circular economy as a priority guideline to strengthen the institutional framework to create the conditions for transit to a circular economy. The National Competitiveness and Productivity Plan includes the development of roadmaps towards a circular economy in the priority sectors of industry, agriculture, fishing and aquaculture; and the signing of clean production agreements.
We have approved the Roadmap towards a circular economy in the industry sector, led by the Ministry of Production, and with intervention in the activities of the manufacturing industry and industrial fishing processing, for the next 5 years; and we are working on the preparation of the road maps in the agriculture, fishing and aquaculture sectors, with the respective sectors. We have signed 7 clean production agreements with beverage, plastic, construction, cosmetic, and textil companies.
