Roadmap: Sustainable Management of Plastics – Pacific Alliance. In 2019, the Presidents of the Member Countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) on the occasion of the XIV Presidential Summit of this trade bloc, expressed their commitment of continuing the promotion of sustainable development at a regional level, contributing to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. The four Presidents signed the Pacific Alliance Declaration for a Sustainable Management of Plastics. The signing countries committed to work on the analysis and development of initiatives to contribute to a sound management of this kind of waste, including single use plastic regulation, innovation, research and development, education and consumer information, circular economy schemes and blue economy, among other areas. Currently, the Pacific Alliance countries are working in a public private partnership to achieve a roadmap for the implementation of this Declaration.
